Wow, it took a lot of work to earn this piece of paper!!! I finished my degree in Electrical Engineering. YAY! This was really an awesome major. I think someday I will continue - I would LOVE to learn more about digital circuit design - the kind of stuff they do at Intel. I had a couple classes that dealt with that stuff and it was so fun that I didn't mind working on homework and projects for hours! (I know, I'm a nerd, but I've never denied that, have I?)

Twilight
Yes, I joined the band wagon. I have to admit that I really enjoyed the Twilight series. I started reading the first book 3 weeks ago and couldn't stop reading until I was done with the 4th book - and yes, I want to be a vampire, too.
I checked out the first chapter of Midnight Sun on stephaniemeyer.com and I LOVED it!! I'm excited for that book and for the 1st movie coming out before the end of the year.
Now what should I read?

Peach Pie!!!
I don't know if I've ever made anything so utterly from scratch!! I was mostly worried about the crust that evolved all the way from whole wheat... but somehow it turned out alright! I don't know if it is a well known tip, but the recipe that I used said to whip an egg and brush it on the crust before baking, and that gave it the golden shiny look that you see on picture perfect pies. I just love peaches.
I altered quite a bit from these recipes, but these are what I used:

Jessie and Ian had their baby!

Jessie told me that she was headed to the hospital on Wednesday morning and Kira was born at 10:10pm! Surprise! 7 pounds 1 ounce (Ironically 10 ounces less than the sonogram indicated 2 weeks ago) Jessie and Ian are very happy. Jessie is especially happy that she didn't have to wait until her due date, September 8th. Kira looks like a little Ian. They are home now with no complications and Grandma is already loving her new role!

My birthday
I have the greatest husband in the world =) This birthday was one of the best days that I've ever had - he did such a great job. At the end of the day I went to sleep so happy and even woke up the next day still as happy as ever!
Morgan got up as if he was going to work and went to get me flowers. And not just any flowers... he got purple roses! They look just like the ones we had at our wedding reception in California. They smell wonderful and they are just so beautiful!
Morgan used to get me flowers for EVERY Friday when we were dating. He would bring them over and we would go on our date. My roommates loved it. We always had pretty flowers in our living room =). After we were married Morgan took a religion class and the professor said something like, "Ever since I married my wife I haven't gone to any flower shop." And they've been married so long they've had a baby. When the teacher said this, Morgan realized that he was in the same boat and decided to get me flowers. That was only a few months after we were married so Morgan never reached the pitiful state that his religion professor was in.

About a half hour after Morgan usually leaves, I woke up and heard him in the kitchen. I realized he hadn't gone to work and something was up! (He had left to go get flowers and was already back.) So I got up and he was making me breakfast in bed - egg sandwich with our home-made wheat bread - one of my favorites!
While were eating he revealed the other surprise - that he would go with me to look at jewelry! I was so excited because we haven't done this since we were looking for rings, and it's not a date-night-activity that he would enjoy. I wanted a pair of earrings and we found a pair at ShopKo (I LOVE that store). They are small white gold hoops that are casual enough for any outfit and won't irritate my ears. I love them!

Loving your Husband
What do you do to make your husband happy?
Morgan and I had a conversation a while back about what we can do for each other to show our love. I was surprised that Morgan feels the most loved when I make him food - especially lasagna. For the 15 months that we have been married, I still can't find anything that he likes better.
Morgan is my dearest friend and the greatest husband I could ever ask for. Most of the time I feel like I want to do more for him because he does so much for me.
My sister says that she played some relaxing music and she gave her husband a massage and he loved it. Felt like he was in heaven.

Baby Shower
We have some wonderful friends and family! Linda and Carmel put on a baby shower for us. It was at Linda's apartment and it was beautiful!

My favorite decoration was Linda's new pink table cloth that we found together at ShopKo. ShopKo is really one of my favorite stores!

A fun activity that Carmel thought of was decorating diapers! After the shower we had a whole basket full of colored diapers.
