Lia Sophia!

I have a great story to tell you! I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT LIA SOPHIA!

I found myself very annoyed to be putting on the same pair of earrings that I had already worn to every event for the last 2 weeks. I have several pairs of earrings, but I usually have to take them out after an hour or so. My ears get irritated and swollen with most any earrings.  So I wear them until I can't stand it anymore and then I take them out. Then I can't put on any earrings in for at least a day. This one pair of "gun metal" (hematite) earrings were the only pair that wouldn't irritate my ears.

With my short hair I like to have dangly earrings on. It makes it look like I did my hair like this on purpose. A year and a half ago I went to Morgan's cousin's lia sophia jewelry show. I remembered the cute English lady named Angela explained to us that lia sophia uses surgical steel for their earring posts. I bought a pair of small hoops (not dangly) and they have worked great for me.

With this in mind I went online to find Angela and lia sophia again. I had the idea of doing a party and having her come to my house. She was such a cute lady and it would be fun! I actually had friends to invite, too. So I called her and left a message, "Let's do a party!"

Soon Angela and I started planning our party. I was so excited. I was thinking about my new pair of surgical steel dangly earrings that I would soon get. Watching Angela it occurred to me that it would be so fun to go out in the evenings and see other ladies. "Maybe when my kids get older," I thought.  Then I realized, "but I want to get out of the house NOW!" So next time I saw Angela I told her that I was about 70% sure that I wanted to become a lia sophia advisor. Not sure yet, but I definitely was interested. We couldn't talk more at that moment so I continued thinking about it.  All the fun things about being a lia sophia advisor kept pressing on my mind - lots of fun jewelry! Discounted jewelry! Nights out with other ladies! New friends! Lifetime guarantees! Show cases! Pretty table cloths! New rings! Lots of dangly earrings! No more irritated ears! Being "kinda" like a teacher! Dressing up! Working when I wanted to! Something to think about and do! My Etsy store has been great, but it would be so much fun to be able to INTERACT with others.

So later that day I told Angela that I was 98% sure and that we needed to SIGN ME UP!

The next few days drove me nuts because I had to WAIT. My party finally rolled around and I was so excited that I didn't come down off that cloud for, maybe, 4 days. =)

Every time I look at that catalog my wish list gets longer. I love the jewelry and I'm so excited to see what new things come with the new catalog in February.

My good friends Michelle and Elizabeth hosted a show for me and it turned out so fun! Besides having supporting loving friends to cheer me on, they had family members and friends there that were excited for me to have my first show. Sarah also had a show for me, having volunteered to be my "guinea pig." She had a blast choosing all her free hostess jewelry.  She is going to love opening her package when it comes! Her show was just submitted and now she's waiting for that lia sophia box! Good thing we've trained that UPS guy not to HIDE packages. This brings up a new story:

I ordered my lia sophia starter kit. I've learned that the US Post Office sends things MUCH faster than UPS! UPS takes a WEEK to get from Illinois to Utah. USPS only takes a few days. So I was WAITING WAITING WAITING for my starter kit to arrive. UPS decides to hire a new delivery guy. This new UPS guy decides to HIDE my package. He puts my lia sophia starter kit behind the big garbage can on the side of our house. Since I was expecting it on Friday I kept looking outside on the porch and listening for the door bell. I didn't go anywhere because I was waiting for that package. But I never heard anything on Friday. =( It felt like Christmas had been postponed. Saturday morning while taking out the garbage Morgan found my starter kit behind the big garbage can. Strange. Two days later, Monday, we got another package from UPS. This time the guy wanted us to notice where he had hid it. Although I was home and he could have rang the door bell, he put the big garbage can in front of the garage and then put the package behind the garbage can. Morgan was really upset that he had to get out of the car to MOVE the trash can so that he could park in the garage! So anyways we called UPS and told them what was going on. So our UPS packages have been showing up on our door step again. Thank goodness. I'd rather not have to go around hunting for my packages! Especially when we get packages we are not expecting sometimes.

Back to lia sophia. I am so excited to be a lia sophia Advisor! I just love the jewelry. And I love ladies. And I get a paycheck, which is great because I will be able to afford some jewelry. =)

Copper Mine

There are lots of new pictures in the link at the right of the blog, if you feel so inclined to look. Here are a few good ones. Here are the kids helping me peel potatoes. They always want to help me. Sometimes I don't know what to have them help me with. Here they are just kinda stabbing the potatoes.

Jordan having a moment of bear time.

The copper mine. A big hole in the earth a little drive into the mountains. There's a visitor's center. Very cool. More pictures in the album.  Those big yellow trucks are actually much bigger than they look! Their tires are as big as the tire in the picture below.

This place is very close to where we live. If you look to the west from our home you see some very strange flat-topped mountains with no green on them. Took me a while to learn that this is the area of the copper mine.

I'm not sure why Lizzy was crying at the moment of the picture, but I thought the kids were cute in their hats!

I got these hats at the dollar store for Lizzy's birthday. So we wore hats all day.

Sometime the kids do very cute things, like lay down in the bed with me. =) It got really funny when Morgan came in with the camera.

Jordan's Many Faces

Sometimes Jordan is like a car. He rolls around on the ground.

Sometimes Jordan is like a dinosaur. He makes strange growling noises.

Sometimes Jordan is like a skunk. I can smell him a mile away and I can tell exactly where he has been recently.

Sometimes Jordan is like a rooster. He wakes us up in the morning.

Sometimes Jordan is like a vacuum. He eats up everything he touches.
