Camping

We considered going camping. It is convenient that Pioneer Day is a holiday in Utah. =) We decided to camp in our back yard. It sounded SOO much easier than actually going somewhere. =)

Notice the stuffed animals. The kids love their animal friends.

We borrowed the tent from our good friend Sara.

Jordan didn't actually make it through the night, so he and I went to sleep in the house… good thing we didn't go anywhere! Lizzy, however did fine. To get her to bed we said that if she went to bed then she would get a cookie.

The next morning I hear the door open, little pattering feet running in my direction, then Lizzy is right next to me where I am sleeping on the bed. She says, "Mommy, the sun is up. It is time for a cookie."

Suzie the Doll

I'm going crazy because I'm so excited about this awesome doll that I made! This is going to be the first of several that will be in my store soon.  I love the hair! Jordan and Lizzy both love it. When I first showed it to them they both wrapped their arms around it to give it a hug. =) I went to JoAnns today to get more doll-making supplies and I had so much fun because I have a new project to work on. =)

Sunbeams

I need new ideas for my store. Any suggestions? I had one brilliant idea yesterday that I'm already working on. I'm starting to create cross stitch patterns to sell! I'm excited. Look for them soon!

In the middle of the night Lizzy came into our room and took a long drink from Morgan's water bottle. Then she went back to the hallway and went to sleep. Luckily she had (Katie's) blanket with her. Maybe she was too tired to go all the way back to her bed.

Yesterday she was singing the Sunbeam song and jumping off the stool at the "beam" part. Too cute.

At church I walked by the Sunbeam class. The 3 kids were standing by the door waiting to go into their room. Lizzy was chasing Matthew around and it looked like she was punching him. So I said to her, "Lizzy we don't punch. That's not nice. You can tickle, though." So she started chasing Matthew and tickling him. A moment later I walked past them again and I saw that Matthew was holding his shirt up so that Lizzy could tickle his belly.

Weeds

Our friends Samantha, 3, and Xander, 5, came to visit us today. Along with their little baby sister Shelby. It's fun to hear what they say. I know that their mom has been working in the yard lately, so I understood why they had this topic on their minds.

Samantha: You have weeds in your back yard.
Me: We do? Can you show me?
Samantha: We have weeds in our back yard.
Me: Do we have weeds in our back yard?
Samantha: No, you don't.
(phew!)

later:
Xander: You gotta get rid of your weeds.

Xander: Don't you guys have peanut butter?

Fruity Pebbles

Me: I didn't eat very healthily today.
Morgan: Why not?
Me: I ate Fruity Pebbles cereal with the kids.
Morgan: Why?
Me: It was really tempting.
Morgan: Apparently you and I are tempted by different things.

It's so much easier than eating the oatmeal that I haven't cooked yet.

Blankets

Poor Jordan gets so mad when I put him down for a nap. I realize that he can make it without a nap, but shesh… I personally think he's too young. (25 months!) So I put him down and sure enough, he falls asleep. This is made possible only because he still has his crib up.  When Lizzy was this age her crib was gone. So she stopped taking naps. But with the convenient "trapping" feature of cribs, I can still get Jordan to take a nap even when he is particularly feisty.

When I put him down he needs to make sure that I put all his blankets on him. Then he looks around the room to make sure that I didn't miss any blankets. When the weather started getting way too hot I had to make sure to HIDE his many blankets in the closet. If he saw them then he would demand they be on him. This is essential for bedtime.

He still hugs his cute little doggie. And he falls asleep so quickly.

Jordan is starting to express himself much more. He always says, "Oh no!" The other day we were watching a movie and he said, "Oh no! … Sad!"  At other times he will point at something and say, "happy!" I figure that means, "If you give me that thing I will be happy!"
